Extended Hours
01/10/2008
Although anyone can book these appointments they are mainly aimed at patients who find it difficult to see a GP in normal hours (e.g. commuters). We have tried these appointments at various times and it is likely that from now on they will be on Saturday mornings from 9 until 12, alternating each week between New Street and our Bishopdown branch surgery.
These appointments are routine & can only be booked in advance, during normal hours (please speak to reception in the normal way if you want to book at Extended Hours appointment).
For urgent/on the day medical problems the local GP Out-of-Hours service will still operate and patients should use this service (or NHS Direct, A&E or 999) in the normal way.
During these sessions, a receptionist will also be on duty; to book appointments, give out prescriptions etc. for patients who call into the surgery. Please note, you will not be able to phone the surgery during these Extended Hours Surgeries.
