Smoking Cessation

For nicotine Replacement therapy, advice on how to quit or just a chat about the effects of smoking on your health, please book a 30 minute appointment with one of our smoking cessation advisors.

Exercise Referral Scheme

Would you like to start regular exercise but not sure how to go about it? Please make a 20 minute appointment with one of our nurses to discuss referral to this scheme. Anyone over the age of 16 who it is thought would benefit from exercise can take part in a 12 week programme designed to meet their individual needs. There will be a cost which may be a fixed monthly fee or a payment of between £3-£4 per session (payable to the chosen centre) depending on which centre is chosen. The centres currently taking part in the scheme are: The Guilder Centre, Five Rivers, Durrington and Tisbury and Amesbury Leisure Centres and SDH staff club.

Weight Loss/ Diet advise

Patients requesting assistance with losing weight or with any aspect of healthy eating are advised that they can see any of the nursing team for regular 'weigh-ins' or just one off advice. Please book 20 minutes for the initial consultation.

Well Person Check

Any patient can choose to have a general health check with a nurse where we would check BP, height, weight, discuss family history, tetanus status, diet and exercise and smear status. If possible it would be an advantage if you attend in the morning having fasted overnight so that blood can be taken-this is not essential though as patients can always re-book for a blood test. Please book 20 minutes for this appointment and bring a urine specimen with you.
